Our Nutritional Vision
At inSpiral we are guided by the principles of optimum nutrition — the idea that food should not merely sustain life but actively promote the highest possible level of health and vitality. This goes far beyond the conventional notion of a "balanced diet".
Raw and Living Foods
A significant proportion of our menu is raw — that is, prepared at temperatures below 118°F / 48°C. At these temperatures, the enzymes naturally present in food remain intact. These enzymes are catalysts for virtually every biochemical process in the body. Cooking above this threshold destroys them, placing additional burden on our digestive systems.
Raw food is also richer in vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients that are degraded by heat. Our raw dishes — from the legendary Raw Lasagne to our raw desserts and ice creams — are designed to deliver maximum nourishment without sacrificing flavour.
Superfoods
We incorporate a wide range of superfoods — nutrient-dense ingredients that deliver exceptional nutritional value relative to their caloric content. These include spirulina, maca, raw cacao, goji berries, hemp seeds, chia seeds, acai, lucuma, wheatgrass, mesquite and many more. These ingredients appear throughout our menu, not as novelties but as foundational elements of our nutritional approach.
Organic and Local
All our ingredients are organic wherever possible. We are actively building our roof garden and relationships with local growers so that an increasing proportion of what we serve is grown within miles of the Lounge. Organic food contains significantly higher levels of nutrients and is free from the pesticide residues that burden conventionally grown produce.
Vegan and Cholesterol-Free
Every dish on our menu is fully vegan — free from meat, fish, dairy and eggs. Plant-based diets are consistently associated with lower rates of heart disease, cancer, type 2 diabetes and obesity. Our food is naturally cholesterol-free and rich in the fibre, antioxidants and phytonutrients that support long-term health.
